Lamar Jackson has been ill for the past few days. Because of the illness, he missed the week 11 game against Chicago Bears and two practice sessions last week. Baltimore Ravens changed his status to questionable for playing on Saturday. After missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday, Jackson tried to take part fully in Friday’s practice. The Ravens did not reveal what kind of illness Lamar had, but we know it wasn’t COVID-19 related.

The former MVP, even after being sick, showed up to Soldier Field on Sunday. He wanted to play the game through his sickness, channeling his inner Michael Jordan. However, he was not fit enough to play and was denied.

Lamar missed what could have been his first-ever start against Chicago. The Bears had just come off a bye week, their record standing at 3-6. Without Jackson, Baltimore seemed to have struggled as they barely defeated the Bears. It was just a 3 point game, with the final result of the being 13-16.

If Lamar played week 11, his current season would have rivaled his 2019 MVP season. Jackson has thrown the ball for 2,447 yards and 14 touchdowns. The completion rate of his passes is 64.4%. He has also made two touchdowns and rushed for 639 yards. Jackson’s average is 6 yards per carry. In total, he has over 400 more rushing yards than the Ravens’ second-leading rusher.
