The 2020 NFL season is entering Week Five now, and teams have slowly started to find their ‘winning mix’ while approaching the halfway stage of the league.

The usual stars such as Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, and others have grabbed headlines week-in and week-out. But the rookie batch of 2020 has certainly made an impression since the season began in September.

The University of Louisiana or LSU is known to produce phenomenal football players who more often than not go on to shine in the NFL. This year’s batch is no different.

LSU stars Joe Burrow, Clyde Edwards-Helaire having a stellar debut season in the NFL

It was no surprise that the Cincinnati Bengals Head Coach, Zac Taylor, announced that Joe Burrow would be their starting quarterback. The LSU superstar endured a tough opening game against the Los Angeles Chargers but showed flashes of brilliance throughout the encounter.

After suffering three consecutive defeats, Burrow won the first NFL game of his career against the Gardner Minshew-led Jacksonville Jaguars in Week Four.

Burrow has thrown for 1,100+ yards with six passing TDs against two interceptions in four games. He is the first rookie in NFL history to throw for 300+ yards in the first three games of the season.

Critics have been impressed by his determination and passion to lead the Bengals despite his young age. Burrow is being tipped for greatness in the near future, and we don’t see any reason why he can’t succeed.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire enjoys record-breaking debut with Kansas City Chiefs

LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire was the standout performer in this year’s opening game against the Houston Texans. He rushed for 138 yards on 25 carries and also registered the first rushing TD of his career on his debut. Not a bad start at all!

Edwards-Helaire has gone from strength to strength with Head Coach Andy Reid trusting the youngster with some big plays. Here’s what the former LSU man said after last Monday’s narrow win over Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots.

“Ultimately I just feel like I need to just put my foot on the ground and get knocked on some runs. Some things, we got to ultimately clean up as an offensive group — we got off to kind of a slow start.

“But, most importantly, go through film to see what I can fix and see what we can adjust as far as tomorrow on film then after in the walkthrough and go through any of the adjustments we need to make,” Edwards-Helaire said via Sports Illustrated.

Justin Jefferson talks about his first few weeks in the NFL with the Vikings

WR Justin Jefferson was snapped up by Minnesota Vikings in the first round of this year’s NFL draft event (22nd overall). Coach Mike Zimmer gave Jefferson his first career start against the Texans last weekend.

He repaid the faith placed in him by completing a 71-yard passing TD thrown by quarterback Kirk Cousins. Here’s what the former LSU star said about the game and his career so far.

“The first two weeks was me just really getting a taste of the NFL. It’s just the circumstances that we are in with no preseason games and me just waiting my turn.

“Coach Kubiak just said to me that I was going to go out there and start … so me just being the person that I am, I wanted to take that opportunity and run with it. Hopefully we just come out with a win next time,” Jefferson told the team’s official website.

Jefferson re-enacted the famous LSU celebration ‘The Griddy’ after scoring the first touchdown of his rookie season. He said, “You know ‘The Griddy’ came from my hometown in New Orleans. Really, we just took it from LSU, and we brought it to the league.

“Now, all around the world, teams are doing it, and I had to make something special about it because everybody has been doing it. I had to make sure I was the big dog of the dance,” Jefferson added.
