The Kansas City Chiefs are looking like serious contenders for the Super Bowl yet again. After winning it all last season, the Chiefs have continued to dominate the AFC will their offensive play calling.

With players such as Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill at their disposal, it’s no wonder the Chiefs are one of the favorites to lift the Lombardi trophy in Tampa on February 7th.

But Dallas Cowboys legend and NFL Hall of Famer, Michael Irvin, feels there is one team from the AFC that could stop the Chiefs in their tracks, the high-flying Buffalo Bills.

Buffalo Bills- The surprise package of the AFC

The Buffalo Bills have been rampant this season. Now 11-3, the Bills have clinched their first AFC East title since 1995. The key to the franchise’s success this season has been their offensive unit.

Starting QB Josh Allen who is having a stellar 3rd season with the Bills would’ve been a fairly good shout for MVP this season had Aaron Rodgers and Mahomes not been in the form of their lives.

“I like the Bills. I recently got to interview Stefon Diggs… And I asked him, ‘What about Kansas City? Did you guys put up, 48 points (against Denver Broncos) to send a message to Kansas City?’

“He said, ‘No, it’s not about that’. He said that we learned from that game. We learned from everybody that we lost to, we learn from it,” Irvin said.

Since the Bills lost their game to the Chiefs this season in Week 6, Irvin feels a lot has changed. “I think (now) things will be different because this team has taken another step,” he added.

Dual-threat of Diggs and Beasley

The former star WR also said that teams have to worry about more than just Diggs when it comes to the aerial route now. With former Cowboys WR Cole Beasley finding form at just the right time, Josh Allen now has 2 potent aerial routes to aim for.

“It’s not just Diggs now. It’s also about Beasley… He has taken off, man… The combination of them with what Josh Allen is doing makes them viable to score in many different ways,” Irvin said.

The Chiefs suffered their only defeat of the season to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 5. However, they bounced back with a win against Buffalo and haven’t looked back since.
