Green Bay Packers overcame a shaky start to the game against NFC North rivals Minnesota Vikings on opening weekend to seal a 43-34 win. 36-year-old Aaron Rodgers turned the clock back and put in a stellar performance. The two-time NFL MVP threw for 364 yards and completed four passing TDs to lead his team to a deserving win.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions were outplayed by NFC North opponents Chicago Bears courtesy of a fourth-quarter blitz led by quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. Lions coach Matt Patricia will hope that his team learned from that setback as they travel to Lambeau Field for a tough fixture against the Divisional favorites.

Here’s a detailed look at both teams, along with injury updates and Week Two matchday predictions.

Aaron Rodgers key for Green Bay Packers in first home game of the season

Head Coach Matt LaFleur’s system is beginning to show positive results in his second-year in-charge at Lambeau Field. In addition to that, Aaron Rodgers’ budding relationship with his wideouts corps. of Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling makes the Packers strong favorites heading into this tie.

Running backs, Aaron Jones, Tyler Ervin, and rookie AJ Dillon will also be utilized by LaFleur against the Lions. This should be a comfortable win for the Packers who are aiming to make another run to the NFC Championship game this year.

Detroit Lions reeling from multiple injuries to key first-team members

It’s not been a great offseason for Matt Patricia’s Detroit Lions in 2020. They’ve had a few players out with injury, including one to WR Kenny Golladay who will sit out of Sunday’s crunch encounter.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford was productive against the Bears in Week One, however, he lacked support from his offensive supporting cast.

Coach Patricia will need his defense to step up in order to stop the rampant Packers from wreaking havoc at Lambeau Field. The Packers won both of last year’s meetings against the Lions, but the visitors have a 3-2 lead in this series.

Aaron Rodgers has a different vibe about him this year. We’re guessing the seasoned quarterback was not too pleased with the move to draft Jordan Love in the first round earlier this year. He seems like he has his eyes set on the NFL MVP award in 2020.

Coach Matt LaFleur will look to use this newfound motivation for Rodgers in a positive way and capitalize on the field. The Packers should comfortably outplay the Lions on Sunday, which sets them up in a good position to play the Drew Brees-led New Orleans Saints in Week Three. This could be the year in which the Wisconsin-based franchise returns to the Super Bowl.
