Veteran NFL quarterback Ben Roethlisberger made a successful return to the league in Monday night’s win over the New York Giants earlier this week. Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin will be pleased by his team’s display and will hope that confidence translates into Sunday’s game against the misfiring Denver Broncos.

Meanwhile, Denver Coach Vic Fangio’s team suffered a narrow 14-16 loss to Tennessee Titans in Week One. Fangio himself came under criticism for his erratic usage of timeouts in the fourth quarter, which cost his team a possible win.

Here’s a detailed look at both teams, along with injury updates and Week Two matchday predictions.

NFL Preview

Can Pittsburgh Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin make it two wins in two on Sunday?

The Steelers will start this game as the favorites. Over the last decade, the Pittsburgh-based franchise has consistently beaten mid-table teams with comfortable ease.

Along with quarterback ‘Big Ben’, Coach Mike Tomlin will also hope that offensive stars WR Juju Smith-Schuster, WR Diontae Johnson, WR Chase Claypool, and RB Benny Snell Jr come through for the team on the weekend.

Roethlisberger’s elbow will also be closely monitored by the team’s medical personnel.

On the defensive end, S Minkah Fitzpatrick, Terrell Edmunds, and Joe Haden will be key for the home team at the Heinz Field. All in all, the Steelers should register a comfortable win, if they stick to their basics.

Denver Broncos face a tough task ahead of themselves after the narrow loss last week

The Broncos have to deal with a couple of injuries to promising wideouts, Courtland Sutton and Tyler Cleveland. Quarterback Drew Lock put in a decent performance in the loss to the Titans. Rookie Jerry Jeudy also had a promising debut, even though he did drop the ball at a crucial juncture in the game.

The Broncos are still learning to play without their star linebacker, Von Miller, in defense. They will have to dig deep if they intend to stop the Steelers at the Heinz Field on Sunday. This will definitely be a tough match-up for Vic Fangio’s boys early on in the 2020 NFL season.

Steelers vs Broncos Prediction

Pittsburgh Steelers 30 – 17 Denver Broncos

This game seems like a pretty easy one to predict. Barring any massive game-changing plays, we feel the Steelers will be able to seal this win purely based on their record against lower-ranked teams in the NFL over the last five years.
