NFL Trade Update: Avery Williamson Bids Goodbye to Jets Teammates Ahead of Steelers Move

As we edge closer to trade deadline day, NFL teams across the league are scrambling to piece together what they believe will be the ‘perfect combination’ for the second half of the ongoing season. The latest trade move to go through is one involving New York Jets linebacker, Avery Williamson.
As per the latest reports, Williamson is on his way to join the Ben Roethlisberger-led Pittsburgh Steelers. Avery had been with the Jets since 2018. He featured in 7 games this season and had one interception against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5, during which he returned for 21 yards.

The former fifth-round draft pick posted this picture on his official Instagram handle in light of recent events. Over the last 2 years, Williamson made a total of 22 starts for the Jets. Prior to that, he spent 3 years playing for the Tennessee Titans.
Williamson will now move from a 0-8 team to the unbeaten Pittsburgh Steelers before Tuesday’s trade deadline. The Steelers will give up their fifth-round pick in 2022 in exchange for Williamson and the Jets’ 2022 seventh-round pick.

The Steelers are certainly the best team in the NFL right now. Head Coach Mike Tomlin has turned the AFC North outfit into a force to be reckoned with.
The likes of Big Ben, Juju Smith-Schuster, Chase Claypool, and Eric Ebron have been terrific over the course of the last 7 games in the league and are more than capable of challenging for the Super Bowl this season.
