‘Not Bad For An RB’: Lamar Jackson Takes A Shot At His Critics After Racking Up Almost 10,000 Passing Yards

Lamar Jackson is without a doubt, one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL today. The Baltimore Ravens struck gold when they picked the young athlete in the 2018 draft. He was a star in college, and he brought all of his abilities to a national level. 

But do you remember when the critics called the quarterback just a “glorified” running back? Many used to call Jackson a rusher disguised as a QB. It seems like even after a couple of seasons, the Ravens shot caller is still firing shots at the doubters. Recently in a tweet, Jackson made a subtle reference to the critics.

Lamar Jackson in the NFL

Despite his young age, Lamar Jackson has become a star quarterback. His ability has even impressed Tom Brady. The GOAT himself had pitched the name of Jackson for the next GOAT. The QB became the starter in his rookie year. He was a first-round draft pick in 2018. Jackson quickly won the hearts of Baltimore fans. And at the age of just 21, he became the youngest quarterback to start a playoff game in the history of the NFL.

The 2019 NFL MVP did not always have everyone believing in him. When Jackson was drafted, many critics thought he would be a suitable candidate for an RB role. They believed that his throwing arm was off and inaccurate. According to the critics, Jackson’s running and rushing were good. He would have been a better running back than a quarterback. But the Ravens knew what he was capable of and they gave Jackson an opportunity. It seems like the right call. Because ever since his first game, Lamar had produced nothing but masterpiece performances.

Jackson takes a quick jab at the critics

Recently, a Twitter account posted a picture of Lamar Jackson listing his accomplishments. In his career so far, Jackson has racked up over 10,000 yards. He has 9967 passing yards with 84 touchdowns along with 3673 rushing yards with 21 touchdowns. The quarterback was the unanimous MVP and an All-Pro selection in 2019. He is also a two-time Pro Bowler.

Replying to the tweet, Jackson wrote, “Not bad for a RB but we hungry.” It was a reference to the critics who doubted his abilities to play as a quarterback. Lamar Jackson has proven all his doubters wrong on the field.
