However, despite the chaos surrounding the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the NFL is edging closer towards the season opener on September 11, 2020. Houston Texans host Kansas City Chiefs in the first game of the season this year.

Teams have been given certain guidelines by league officials. Coaches, players, and support staff have been instructed to follow these protocols to the dot. Dallas Cowboys’ star running back, Ezekiel Elliott, gives his two cents on the coronavirus situation surrounding the NFL this year.

Ezekiel Elliott confident the Cowboys will tackle the COVID-19 crisis responsibly

Experienced NFL running back, Ezekiel Elliott, featured in a recent interview with Dallas Morning News. Here’s what the star player had to say in relation to the Cowboys’ preseason training and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

He said, “We all are here to play football. We’re not going to do anything dumb to jeopardize that. It’s really not about you. It’s about the guy next to you. You don’t want to get that guy sick. You don’t want to have him going home to his family and get it. It’s more of an accountability thing, just keeping each other accountable and its not about you. It’s about the guys around you in this locker room and their families.”

“Just with testing, I’ve been tested every day. I think obviously being safe while we’re here in the facility and social distancing as much as we can. As we depart from camp, that everyone stays as disciplined. And everyone continues to protect everyone on this team and their families,” Elliott told Dallas Morning News.
