Jacksonville Jaguars and head coach Doug Marrone have been getting a lot of flak on social media recently. Their roster moves and trade deals indicate that the Jags are planning to ‘flop’ on purpose in the NFL this year. Due to the departures of some star names, critics are claiming the Jaguars are planning to tank this season in order to get the first pick at next year’s NFL draft.
If the reports are true, then the Shahid Khan-owned team is angling to bring in Clemson Tigers quarterback Trevor Lawrence to Florida next year. In addition to that, some rumors claim that the Jaguars want Trevor’s coach at Clemson, Dabo Swinney, to join him in 2021.

He said, “I think more than anything it shows that people are watching us very closely. They see it from afar and see we’re losing our biggest names. But that’s not how we feel.”

The Jaguars have lost some big names in the last week. DE Yannick Ngakoue (Traded to Minnesota Vikings) and RB Leonard Fournette (released then signed by Tampa Bay Buccaneers) both left the team in the last couple of days. Minshew will hope that he can help the Jags get some positive results early on in the season. Doug Marrone’s team start the season with a clash against Indianapolis Colts on September 13, 2020.
