Florida’s Medalist Golf Club will host Tiger vs Phil 2 on May 24. NFL legends in Peyton Manning and Tom Brady will join the duo with all proceeds from the charity match up going towards aiding efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

‘The Match’ is for a good cause, but fans would certainly expect banter from everyone involved. They weren’t left disappointed as Peyton Manning fired the opening salvo.

In a group chat With TNT’s Ernie Johnson, the Super Bowl XLI MVP shared his take on ‘The Match’ being held in Florida. 

“The tournament had to be in Florida. You know, after Tom’s B&E arrest, you know with the ankle monitor, he couldn’t leave the state. So it had to be in Florida. Tiger and I talked to the sheriff in Tampa. He’s gonna be allowed to go to Palm Beach to play.”

“I’ll be honest, I’ve never played Tom very well on his home turf, so maybe this is considered a neutral site.”

“I would’ve loved to have had this tournament in a place where they don’t like Tom very much. Indianapolis, Denver, Boston, after he just betrayed them and broke their hearts. So, Palm Beach is the best we could probably do.”

The relentless Manning did not stop even as Brady, Woods, and Mickelson all struggled to keep a straight face. 

“Phil chose the right partner in Tom. Together they have 11 championships. Tiger and I have 17.”
