Doug Pederson Lauds Carson Wentz’s Leadership; Believes They Can Turn Things Around This Season

Doug Pederson the Philadelphia Eagles to the NFC East Division title in 2019. Quarterback Carson Wentz was one of the standout performers for the Eagles last season. However, things have gone awry in 2020.

The Eagles are currently on a 3-6-1 heading into Week 12. They are currently on a 2-game losing streak, having lost both their last two outings in the league against New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns.

Despite their dismal outing in the league, the Eagles are second in the NFC East Division. Critics have singled out Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz for major criticism for his below-par displays over the course of the 2020 NFL season.

Ahead of Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, Head Coach Doug Pederson backed his veteran quarterback to come through over the next 4 weeks.

“Things aren’t going the way we had hoped for. And you know, he and I are in this together, and we’re going to get this thing turned around and fixed and I’ve got a lot of confidence in him that he’ll get it done and got confidence in myself that I can get it done and he’s had a really good week of practice,” Pederson said on Saturday.

The Eagles face a crucial end to the season with respect to their playoff aspirations. Wentz has thrown for 2,300+ yards with 14 TDs to his name.

But he also has 14 interceptions to his name, which highlights his struggles in 2020. He will definitely be expected to step up his game in the coming weeks.
