Philip Rivers arrived in Indianapolis after spending 15 years in the NFL with Los Angeles/San Diego Chargers. The 38-year old is on a massive $25 million guaranteed contract.

Some might question such a risky move. But Colts GM Chris Ballard and head coach Frank Reich have a plan in mind for the veteran playmaker.

Rivers is 10th on the NFL all-time passer rating list (95.1%). That’s exactly what he will be expected to do in Indianapolis, a team that boasts of a stunning offensive line.

“The guy’s Top-10 all-time, basically in every passing category there is. But he’s not going to have to do a lot because the Colts, surrounding him, they’re in a really good spot,” said Taylor.

Taylor further went on to rave about the Colts’ brand new acquisition. He claimed that Rivers does not need to emulate Super Bowl LIV MVP Patrick Mahomes. He just needs to do what he does best, pass accurately.

“Chris Ballard has put this team together very, very well in the last couple of years. Great offensive line, we talked about Jonathan Taylor, Marlon Mack is a 1,000 YD rusher.

“The onus is not going to be on Philip Rivers, you know, to throw it 45-50 times a game and put up Patrick Mahomes-type numbers. He just needs to be a great efficient passer which he’s been throughout the duration of his career,” Taylor concluded.
