Ben Roethlisberger shines as the Steelers win their 9th consecutive game

The Super Bowl-winning quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was not involved in team practice sessions last week. He was placed on the COVID-19 list in the build-up to Sunday’s game against the Bengals.

As per reports, ‘Big Ben’ was in close proximity to an individual who tested positive for COVID-19. However, he was cleared to feature for yesterday’s game after testing negative for the deadly virus.

Roethlisberger had a stunning outing against the Bengals. He went 27 of 46, throwing for 333 yards with 4 passing touchdowns against 0 interceptions. Here’s what the 38-year-old said after the game.

“Really just felt nice and rested coming into today. I tried to talk Coach into seeing if I could take next week off, too,” Roethlisberger told ESPN’s Brooke Pryor.

However, coach Tomlin was always confident that Roethlisberger would do fine on Sunday despite missing practice last week. He said, “There was less anxiety, in terms of dealing with him in these circumstances, maybe than some of the other circumstances he and I have been in in the past, where his health was a factor in terms of availability.

“His health was not a factor, so we had very little reservations about his ability to perform once we got him to the stadium.”
