The 2020 NFL season is turning out to be a heated affair. As we approach Week 13 of the season, there are some teams in the league that are clearly a class apart as compared to their counterparts. The Aaron Rodgers-led Green Bay Packers is one of those teams.

Another top team in that regard is Andy Reid’s Kansas City Chiefs, led by Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes. But, one team that is defying all odds in 2020 is Mike Tomlin’s Pittsburgh Steelers.

The NFC North big boys lead their division and are the only team who are yet to taste defeat in the league. They have the potential to go 16-0 and equal New England Patriots’ 2007 feat.

And who do they have to thank for this winning streak? 38-year-old quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

On the latest segment of Undisputed: Skip and Shannon, the topic of debate was the ongoing NFL MVP race involving Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, and Russell Wilson. However, co-host Skip Bayless opined that another name should be added to the list – Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger.

He said, “But, if you look at what happened at Tampa Bay to Aaron Rodgers, he had a QPR of 12. Scale zero to 100 because obviously they jumped out to attend enough to lead then pick-six, near pick-six, and he goes the last three quarters and doesn’t score a point.”

“How is Big Ben Roethlisberger not in this race? I know he does have these kinds of staggering stat padded numbers…He has been off the charts this year in playmaking. When it’s time to make a play, he makes a play…he made late throws and plays where I’m saying that’s just too good. That’s vintage, Big Ben. One will agree that Skip Bayless does make a valid argument. Well, at least as far as his points regarding Ben Roethlisberger were concerned. The veteran quarterback has been vital to the Steelers’ success in 2020. If he keeps playing the way he currently is, the league will have no other option but to hand him a shot at winning the MVP title.
