Former Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy has felt nearly all the possible emotions that an NFL head coach could imagine apart from winning the Super Bowl. While he quickly went with the franchise on a promising trajectory, his failure left many fans wondering what went wrong. But it appears Nagy has been given a second lifeline back home in a Super Bowl contending Kansas City Chiefs franchise.

The former 2017 AP NFL Coach Of The Year will be returning as the quarterbacks’ coach for the Chiefs and QB Patrick Mahomes. He will reunite with Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who he has worked under for 5 seasons before going to Chicago in 2017. Despite getting unceremoniously discharged from Chicago, he looks to build on his experience next season.

While talking to the Chicago Sun-Times, Nagy states, “I want to use my experiences in Chicago to help me be better here for our team here in Kansas City. There’s a little bit of humility you have to have to do this…You have highs and lows, and you learn. You have so many hats you put on at that time.”

Nagy adds that joining as the QBs coach for the Chiefs will be a refreshing experience and a new start. Nagy believes that there will be many changes as he considers his failures to be real-life experiences and knowledge he didn’t possess in 2017. It was a learning curve for the then-head coaching role with the Bears, but he has high hopes for the future.
