REPORTS: Former Chiefs WR Demarcus Robinson Joins Hands With Divisional Rivals Las Vegas Raiders

The Kansas City Chiefs have lost a long-time serving wide receiver Demarcus Robinson to their most bitter rivals. Robinson will be signing a 1-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. This comes in a long line of strong decisions that their GM Dave Ziegler continues to make. The Wide Receiver is moving from one mighty offense to a ‘points factory’ in the making.
Robinson was a former 4th-round draft pick out of the University of Florida during the 2016 NFL Draft. He has been a key contributor on offense in Kansas City since the 2018 NFL campaign. Robinson made 97 appearances in regular-season games with 42 career starts during his time with the Chiefs. He caught 145 passes on 227 targets for 1,679 yards and 14 TDs as part of Chiefs Nation. He was also a part of the team’s back-to-back Super Bowl trips during the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

A well-respected figure in Kansas City, he was highly regarded for his unique chemistry with QB Patrick Mahomes. It seems to be the domino effect with the Chiefs acquiring former Steelers WR JuJu-Smith Schuster that confirmed his exit from the roster. A reliable player who wasn’t the top receiver at any point in time with the Chiefs might be reprising his role with the Raiders.
Demarcus Robinson adds to the Raiders’ Arsenal
In 2021, Robinson played in all 17 games with 10 starts, recording 25 receptions for 264 yards with 3 TDs. While he will be sensing a feeling of familiarity in the AFC West, he will be donning the white and black Raiders jersey. GM Ziegler seems to have prioritized the issue of revamping the WR corps. Showcased by adding Robinson following the blockbuster acquisition of WR Davante Adams.
