Seattle Seahawks HC Pete Carroll Clears the Air on Colin Kaepernick Comeback Rumors

Colin Kaepernick Saga is now an annual fixture. The media and Kap get together every off-season and try to dig out if there’s an open QB spot. Recently, Pete Carroll was showing interest in the former 49ers QB. But it seems there is not much progress on that front. Recently, the Head Coach came out with an update on the status of their conversation.
The Veteran Head Coach said about Kap’s training, “I’ve watched a bunch of his workouts … to kind of keep me up with what’s going on. He’s really working hard. He’s all over the country, traveling around, getting his workouts in. So he’s still competing for it.”

It is a confusing predicament for the outsiders at least. The Seahawks need a High Performing quarterback. DK Metcalf is in his prime and it would be disappointing to see him be a part of a team that is not a contender. The Coach seems to be on thin ice as well. Having lost one of the best defense to time and injury. And then losing out on a franchise quarterback.
Carroll Has Enough Cache
The team has trust in the Coach. He has been a shining light for the Seahawks in the past. DK Metcalf will be the leader of this franchise now that Russ has moved on. They also bid farewell to Bobby Wagner, a household Seahawks legend. So, it will be a cultural shift inside the locker room this year.
However, fact remains that without a Star QB, it is tough to be competing at the highest level. And in such a loaded division, it becomes even more pertinent. And according to Pete Carroll, the team has not had any further discussion with Kap, after he reached out to the team.

As per USA Today, during the Annual Owners’ meeting, Carroll told the media, “He’s running around, he’s throwing the ball. You can tell the distance that he’s throwing the ball. You can get a sense of the velocity. There’s comments from the players that he works out with. He’s doing a nice job presenting himself.”

Safe to say that the Quarterback has done everything he could to audition/ try out for the role without any official involvement. He has tweeted out collab requests on Twitter for any and all wide receivers to workout with him. The man seems truly dedicated, but how far that will take him has become an ongoing theme in the NFL world.
