Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool is entering his third NFL season, and he is excited about the upcoming one. Steelers have produced some of the best wide receivers in the league. But the present steelers WR thinks he is among the top 3 receivers in the NFL.

Recently, WR Chase Claypool during an interview on the I AM ATHLETE podcast, spoke about his third season with the Steelers. He said“I’m going to say, my second year, I was a better player than I was my first year. The plays just didn’t work out, right? Some of the plays just didn’t go my way. I didn’t make some plays I need to make. But as a football player, understanding the game, knowing what to do, knowing where to be, I was better. So I’m going to be better this year.”

Claypool has played two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and his graph has gone up each year. He thinks he has improved a lot from the first season, and as the receiver enters his third year, he has got a better understanding of the game.

Steelers WR further said, “And just like you said, understanding I’m not normal — I feel that way when I’m on the field. I know for a fact I am not like the rest of the guys in the NFL. I know I’m a top-five receiver, I know I’m a top-three receiver.”

Well, Claypool claims he is among the top three NFL wide receivers in the league and counts himself among the great WRs like Tyreek Hill and Cooper Kupp. In 2021, Claypool had 860 receiving yards with two touchdowns and 59 receptions. In the whole season, he had only one 100-yard game. Also, in his last 5-games, he was only able to bring 41 receiving yards.

If we rank his play of 860 receiving yards in the last season, he stands at 35th position as a WR in the league. The Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp had the most 1947 receiving yards with 16 touchdowns and 145 receptions. The second and third position goes to Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson and former Packers WR Davante Adams. Jefferson had 1616 receiving yards and Davante Adams had 1553 receiving yards.

Claypool is considering himself the league’s best WR. Moreover, he is ready to lead the offense of the Pittsburgh Steelers this season. He cannot be blamed totally for his low stats last year as the former Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger too had a rough season in the end.
