Teammate Majorly Responsible for Giving Russell Wilson a Super Bowl Summarizes His Hall of Fame Hopes: “If He Goes to Denver and Wins That Freaking Gauntlet of a Division”

Russell Wilson writes a new chapter in his career after his trade to the Denver Broncos. Following a blockbuster trade during the offseason, he will now take charge of a new offense that has a giant legacy. The athlete has had incredible success with the Seahawks, which makes him a manufacturing Hall of Famer. His former teammate also has positive words about him achieving the feat.

Free agent cornerback Richard Sherman appeared in All Things Covered Podcast and spewed some insights on his former QBs. Being a former Seahawk, he knows a lot about Russell Wilson. Moreover, he believes in Wilson getting a position in the elite class — The Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Sherman mentions, “Russell is being great. This opportunity in Denver will give him a chance to submit everything you’re talking about. It’s like, hey, is he who he thinks he is? Is he who the world thinks he is? Because if he goes to Denver and wins that freaking gauntlet of a division? It is solidified. Give him a jacket. If he does not, then it’s a whole different conversation. You know what I mean?”

Russell Wilson was a bombshell in Seattle. He put up crazy statistics that solidify his career as a QB. The Asterisk went into the Pro Bowl almost every year in his career, except for one (2016). Given Sherman’s claims, Russell has to win the playoffs to make his legacy shine.

Russell won a Super Bowl and is ranked among the division’s top QBs in the league. Now, he has a sizable opportunity to show up and win at Denver to continue his hall of fame-worthy career. 

Did Richard Sherman and Russell Wilson have problems?

Back in time, the Seahawks were subject to multiple reports. It had Richard Sherman and Russell Wilson not being on the same page. Especially when Sherman intercepted Wilson, threw the football back at him, and cursed during a 2014 workout. But the free agent CB debunked any of such rumors and addressed his relationship with the QB.

Sherman told ESPN‘s Josina Anderson that they are professionals who socialize occasionally and get along well. He also mentions that his bond with Wilson, Bobby Wagner, Doug Baldwin, and other Seahawks has a different progression. But as a team, they are incredible.
