The Russell Wilson Saga Continues as Seahawks Management Apparently Unhappy With QB

The drama continues to unfold at Seattle between star quarterback Russell Wilson and the Seahawks franchise. The quarterback seems to be unsettled and could look for a trade elsewhere this season.

Wilson has been vocal about his intentions regarding being more involved with the recruitment of the Seahawks coaching staff. The QB even wanted to have a hand in picking the team’s new offensive coordinator.

And recently he even came out to say that his availability for the franchise is uncertain. Such comments obviously have not gone down well with the franchise’s management.

Seahawks management not impressed with Russell Wilson

The 2020 Walter Payton Man of the Year seems to be growing impatient at Seattle. With his O-line letting him down multiple times in the 2020 season, Wilson could very well be dressing up for a new franchise in 2021.

Wilson’s issues with his O-line though are not out of place. Through 17 games he played this season, the quarterback was sacked 51 times, averaging 3 sacks a game. That made him the most sacked QB in the league.

Even more damning is that this seems to be a recurring theme. Ever since being drafted by the Seahawks in 2012, Wilson has been sacked 100 more times than any other QB (441).

After making the explosive comments regarding the uncertainty about his future on the Dan Patrick Show, Patrick said that according sources, the management are not pleased with Wilson’s remarks.

“A source told me that the Seahawks’ management is not happy with Russell Wilson and his camp for taking this to the media… You wonder if they’re going to be able to co-exist. . . . The current situation is not sustainable. That’s what I was told,” said Patrick.

Whether or not the Seahawks will trade him for his comments are uncertain. But one thing is for sure. The atmosphere is tense in Seattle. One wrong step and the franchise could end up losing it’s star QB.

And if that is to be the case, plenty of franchises out there would gladly pounce on the opportunity to sign up Russell Wilson.
