Kansas City Chiefs could not have imagined a better start to their title defense in 2020. Patrick Mahomes and Co. have won their opening three games of the season.

They started off with a convincing win over Houston Texans on opening day. They followed that up with a narrow 20-23 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

However, their win on Monday night over the Lamar Jackson-led Baltimore Ravens was their biggest of the season. They looked to be in control right from the get-go, with Patrick Mahomes putting in a ‘class act’ of his own.

Even head coach, Andy Reid, echoed the same sentiment. Here’s what he said in the post-game presser. “The defense was bearing down against what I consider to be one of the best offensive teams in the league. That was something special.

“You naturally want to charge the quarterback, so keeping contain ends up being a huge thing. He’s faster than most of the guys on the field. He can go. To stay disciplined takes a lot,” Reid said.

Frank Clark takes a shot at Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens

A former Seattle Seahawks player, Frank Clark, joined the Chiefs in 2019. He was part of the side that won last year’s Super Bowl LIV title in Miami. Clark admits that the Ravens were favorites heading into this tie. However, he believes his teammates did enough to thwart the attacking prowess of the deadly Lamar Jackson.

He said, “Patience, you have to play with patience against a player so fast, so explosive and a guy who can make plays throwing and running the ball. I kind of took offense. We didn’t play as well as we could have. I feel like we got on them. And once we did, we didn’t let up.”
