The 2011 NFL season could have ended much differently for Tom Brady and Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots had it not been for the New York Jets. The Pats entered the playoff game that season as the top seed. Not only that, but Brady and his teammates had also embarrassed the Jets earlier that season with a 45-3 in New England on December 6, 2010. The Pats entered the games as firm favorites to the make the AFC Championship game on the back of an eight-match winning streak.

But fate had something else in mind. Rex Ryan’s New York Jets pulled off one of the most memorable wins in Jets’ history by defeating the Pats with a 28-21 scoreline. Make no mistake, it was an upset of epic proportions. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez was brilliant on that night. He completed 16-of-25 for 194 yards and three touchdown passes to Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards, and LaDainian Tomlinson.

But the highlight of the win was the epic post-game interview given by Jets player Bart Scott to ESPN correspondent, Sal Paolantonio.

The Jets raced off to a 14-3 lead at half time and the Pats just couldn’t catch up. The home team was left embarrassed in front of their own fans. The Pats were held to their lowest scoring total over the previous 11 weeks of the season. Former Jets linebacker Bart Scott famously went on a rant after sealing the upset win over AFC big-shots, New England.

He began his post-game interview with ‘Can’t wait’ in reference to the AFC Championship game which the Jets qualified for. However, the fairytale came to an end in the next round as the Jets lost the championship game to the Ben Roethlisberger-led Pittsburgh Steelers. They fell to a 24-19 defeat after falling behind early in the first half.
