Tom Brady Forgets to Acknowledge New England Patriots in Emotional Retirement Announcement

The day we dreaded since the Rams knocked out the Buccaneers in the playoffs is here. Seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady has announced his retirement from the NFL. In a lengthy statement posted on Twitter, the Buccaneers quarterback thanked his family, friends, trainers and even the Buccaneers team, organization and head coach. However, there was one glaring absence from the statement: the New England Patriots.
Did Tom Brady not include the Patriots in his retirement statement on purpose?

No one can deny Tom Brady’s role in turning the New England Patriots into a dynasty. Drawing comparisons to Michael Jordan’s Bulls, Brady’s role in making the Patriots the most feared franchise in the NFL makes him the greatest football player on the planet.

Hence, not acknowledging the Patriots in his retirement statement seems rather unforgivable. On the other, one can easily claim that his two years with Bruce Arians and the Bucs transformed the GOAT into a genuine Buccaneer. While we cannot argue about which franchise means more to the legendary quarterback, we can’t help but notice this glaring absence.
Brady debuted for the Patriots during the 2001 season after starting QB Drew Bledsoe suffered a brutal injury at the beginning of the season. Brady not only replaced Bledsoe, but ensured he took his place as the starting QB for New England. Twenty years later, he’s the franchise’s most important player, despite not playing for them for the past two years.
