It’s been a tough season for the Carson Wentz-led Philadelphia Eagles. They suffered their 7th loss of the season on Monday night at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks.

Coach Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson led the visitors to a comfortable 17-23 win at the Lincoln Financial Field earlier this week. But another player who stood out was second-year wide receiver DK Metcalf.

The pacy wideout proved to be a thorn in the Eagles’ defense throughout the game on Monday. He had 177 receiving yards and handed Eagles CB Darius Slay his ‘worst day’ at the office.

Following the win, Metcalf revealed that it was the words of a certain Eagles defensive coach that irked him ahead of the game. The Seahawks man claimed that he was compared to former Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson aka ‘Megatron’ by Jim Schwartz.

Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz appeared today in front of media personnel via Zoom Call. He was obviously asked to respond to Metcalf’s recent comments directed at him. But his reply was rather anti-climactic.

“I tried to pay the guy a compliment. I said he reminded me a little bit of Calvin Johnson. At the time he said, thanks coach, that means a lot to me.

“If anybody wants to take offense to that, if you get your motivation that way, then fine,” Shwartz said at a pre-game press meet earlier today.

Of course, we’re sure that neither the Eagles nor Metcalf himself will drag this issue any further as both parties gear up for a strenuous end to the season. Doug Pederson’s boys are now on a 3-7-1 record heading into Week 13.
