Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for a final showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles. But the QB is no newcomer to the big games. In the last five years, the Chiefs have made it to the Super Bowl on three occasions. But they’ve only taken the trophy home once.

Mahomes will want to redeem himself after being denied the trophy in the last two years. Reflecting on his learnings, the QB offered some insight into how this year’s trip to the Super Bowl will be different.

Mahomes has the eyes of the NFL world on him as he shoulders the burden of leading his team. But, the QB has come a long way since his first Super Bowl victory. Reflecting on what he’s learnt, he elaborated on the chaos he encountered.

He said, “You get there the first time, and you don’t know what to expect, and you’re kind of going through a whirlwind of media days, and you have practice, but it’s not the normal schedule you usually have and meetings and trying to find time to watch film and everything like that whereas now you have a plan.” The Chiefs indeed have some experience with navigating the big games.

The QB also specified the number of things players have to do outside of taking the field. Mahomes wants to ensure that his younger peers on the team put the game at the forefront. He said, “The Super Bowl week is special, it’s a special week, but it’s not about being down there the week of the Super Bowl – it’s about winning the game.” The Kansas City Chiefs have their eyes set on the ultimate prize. But the battle ahead will be a tough one.

While Patrick Mahomes holds down the fort, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles will undoubtedly be prepared to combat whatever is coming their way. Sure, Mahomes is a threat, but the Eagles’ offense has garnered a tremendous reputation this season.
