Las Vegas Raiders entered their Week Three clash against the New England Patriots as underdogs. They were unbeaten in the league at the start of the weekend. However, things did not go as planned for the Derek Carr-led Raiders at the Gillette Stadium on Sunday.

Last week’s morale-boosting win over the reigning NFC South Champions, New Orleans Saints, was not enough to spur the Raiders to a win over New England over the weekend. Bill Belichick’s boys made their way to a comfortable 36-20 win on home turf.

“They’re going to come in here guns blazing. We didn’t play our best game and we still made it a game,” Carr said via NFL network.

Raiders Coach Jon Gruden expected a tough game against the Patriots on Sunday

At the post-game presser, Raiders’ Head Coach, Jon Gruden, also spoke about the injury pile-up on his team after the first three weeks of the season.

He said, “It’s hard, no doubt. We lose Bryan Edwards today, we’ve already lost Tyrell Williams, we’ve lost [Henry] Ruggs, we’re missing two right tackles and our left guard, our middle linebacker.

“You start to wonder what the hell is going on. This is the National Football League. It’s for mentally tough men. We’re all professionals. We’re all getting paid. We need some young guys to step up, so be it.

“When you hand the ball off and there’s nobody there, it’s a lot more than that. We missed some tackles and we had a couple of players out of their gap. That won’t work, not against the New England Patriots, and not against anybody,” Gruden added.

The Raiders are slated to go up against the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs in the league. Jon Gruden will want a strong response from his players. He will also hope that injured stars, Henry Rugs III and Darren Waller, find their way back for a starting spot.
