NFL Trade News: Le’Veon Bell Pens One-Year Deal with Kansas City Chiefs

The Le’Veon Bell trade saga has come to an abrupt and rather anti-climactic end. After a disastrous start to the 2020 NFL season, experienced running back Bell was rumored to be unhappy with the New York Jets. He was reportedly pushing for a move away from New York for the last couple of weeks.
After failing to agree on a trade deal, Jets GM Joe Douglas revealed that Bell was released from his contract earlier this week. He was rumored to be on the radar of Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and even Buffalo Bills.
However, Bell sealed a one-year deal with reigning Super Bowl champions, Kansas City Chiefs, on Thursday.

The Chiefs will be delighted with the addition of Bell to their roster. He will prove to be a crucial member of the offense as the Missouri-based outfit aim to defend their Super Bowl title this season.
Bell’s best season in the NFL was in 2017 when he played for the Steelers. The Michigan State graduate rushed for 321 yards with 9 rushing TDs to his name that year. However, he’s consistently failed to breach the 300-yards mark over the last 3 years.

Without a doubt, the addition of Bell will terrify NFL teams across the league. The former Pittsburgh Steelers man is not the same player he was a couple of years ago.

However, he can still serve as an important asset to the Chiefs over the course of the season. Le’Veon will look to mentor former LSU star, Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
