World No.3 Roger Federer offers his advice to Nick Kyrgios ahead of the Australian Open 2020 after a strong performance at the ATP Cup 2020. The Swiss maestro suggests Nick Kyrgios possess a game to win a Grand Slam title only if he could get his mind right.
Federer expects the hot-headed Australian to retrench his tournaments in the 2020 season. However, he hopes the 24-year-old is at his hundred per cent in each of the events that he takes part in.

“It’s his mind”: Roger Federer
Federer also explicated that the Australian maverick has a perfect overall game – good enough to win a major title. However, it is his mind that is a roadblock for him.
“Nick doesn’t need to improve a whole lot in his game, he knows he can beat everybody,” Federer said. “He’s got the forehand, the backhand, the serve and volleys and all that stuff.”

Kyrgios at ATP Cup 2020
The Aussie captured two titles in the 2019 season at the Mexican Open in Acapulco and Washington Open. However, Kyrgios had quite a substandard year with 23-14 win-loss record. His best Grand Slam record came at the US Open 2019, reaching the round of 32 in New York.

Nick, however, looked in good touch during the inaugural ATP Cup 2020, playing as a host. Kyrgios won 3 singles matches for Australia in the four games they played. His sole loss came against Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut in the semifinals.
