Novak Djokovic Follows his Rivals Closely

The ‘Resurged King’ of tennis, Novak Djokovic has once again embarked upon the journey of a new tennis season. Back in the year 2011, Djokovic reached the pinnacle of his career and also the season was declared as the greatest seasons ever in men’s tennis. That year, the Serbian maestro won three Grand Slam titles, five Master 1000 titles and his and he won 92.1% of his matches. His gluten-free meals and endless training hours led him to create a new record of winning 12.6 million dollars of prize money in that season.

Having hit by injuries and experiencing a parabolic career, Djokovic managed to produce efficient results in the year 2018. This season the Serbian GOAT looks forward to emulating his glories from the 2011 season one again create his own record. He’s definitely a player who focuses on his own game when it comes to a tournament or a match, but however, the maestro keeps track of his rival off the court. He makes sure that he is updated with the highlights of their matches. When questioned upon studying the other tennis competitors, Djokovic replied, “You do follow, especially what your top rivals are doing, who are they playing, watch highlights. Of course, this is – as much as this is your passion and love, it’s also your work. You have to do your homework and understand where everybody stands and how everybody plays, how everybody feels. And I consider that part of my homework, so I’m sure that they are following what I do as well”.

The World Number one, Djokovic is now into the semifinals of the Qatar Open. He overcame Nikoloz Basilashvili from Georgia 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the quarterfinals. However, he will now be taking on the Spaniard, Roberto Bautista Agut in the semifinals. Agut surpassed the three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 before entering the last four of the tournament in Doha.

Sadly for Djokovic, he was stunned in the semifinals by Bautista Agut, the latter entering the final. The Spaniard will be facing either Marco Cecchinato or Tomas Berdych
