After the high dramatic final of ICC World Cup 2019 between England and New Zealand earlier this year, once again both the teams have faced each other in the ongoing five-match T20I series. After having won two games each, the fifth and final one was the decider one. Amid this, the tweet of Jofra Archer took the limelight away from other things.

England won the toss and opted to bowl first. Asked to bat first New Zealand openers, Martin Guptill and Colin Munro, stitched an 83-run partnership within the powerplay. Guptill scored a 20-ball 50 with 3 fours and 5 sixes. Although Colin de Grandhomme failed to do well, Tim Seifert smashed a well-made 16-ball 39 which included a boundary and 5 sixes.

After their allotted 11 overs, New Zealand put up 146 runs for 5 wickets. While chasing, England opener Jonny Bairstow scored an 18-ball 47 and Eoin Morgan too hit a 7-ball 17 but they were lacking a steady partnership. However, they ended up scoring the same score in their allotted 11 overs.

And once again, both the teams played the super over and like the history repeats itself, England won the game in the super over. Earlier in the final, when the teams put up the same score, they played the super over but that too ended up in a draw. However, according to the ICC rules, England won the ICC World Cup final on the back of their superior boundaries.

However, in today’s game, the story was a little different. England captain Eoin Morgan and Jonny Bairstow put up 17 runs which included two sixes. However, New Zealand failed to reach the target as they managed to score only 8 runs and England won the super over.

In between the game and ahead of their super over, England speedster Jofra Archer has posted a hilarious tweet referred to their previous drama in the World Cup. He asked for ”Taxi” to go the ground as he was the bowler who kept his nerve and bowled the super over for England in the World Cup final and helped England win the title as well.
