Chingiz “Chinga” Allazov grabbed Superbon Singha Mawynn’s ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title and a hefty US$50,000 performance bonus for his fine finish of the Thai superstar in the main event of ONE Fight Night 6 in Bangkok, Thailand, last week.

Now, the fighter who is in the form of his life, is ready to return back into the thick of action to show why he is the best pound-for-pound kickboxer on the planet today.

Chingiz Allazov names his prospective opponents

There are a couple of names on his radar for his first World Title defense, namely longtime foe Sitthichai “Killer Kid” Sitsongpeenong and Marat Grigorian.

“My division has many fighters. I said before, Sitthichai is one of the best kickboxers in the world, really. Before [this], he is a pound-for-pound kickboxer,” the 29-year-old said.

“For me, Sitthichai is better than Marat Grigorian and better than [Giorgio] Petrosyan, better than Superbon. I said this before. This is another style.

“I think Sitthichai will fight Grigorian and whoever wins will face me.”

If that doesn’t come into play, the newly crowned ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title will be content to face the winner of a hypothetical clash between Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan and Grigorian.

The wait is not a problem

Regardless of how it turns out, “Chinga” remains confident that he will walk out of the venue as the divisional king.

“Maybe Petrosyan will fight with Grigorian. No problem. I’ll wait for who wins the fight. I’ll fight with them. I like this fight. I will focus on it 100 percent,” he added.

Being the man who owns the gold, Allazov understands there is a massive target on his back. But at the same time, Allazov does not want to be too concerned with what he cannot control. His equation to becoming a successful athlete will remain unchanged. And by that, he wants to focus on his mission to defend his gold while continuing to build his fanbase with more firefights inside the Circle.

“Every day I trained. My mind [was] only focused on the fight with my opponent, only on the fight,” he said. 

“Before I focused on Sitthichai. Now I am focused on Superbon. You know, I said before I don’t talk about the fight, fight, fight. I talked about my mentality, my mentality is already 100 percent and I prepare every time. For me, my opponent is no problem.”
