‘He’s Still in the First Place’ – Adriano Moraes Backs Demetrious Johnson on the MMA GOAT List

Adriano Moraes has been dominating the ONE flyweight division with absolute authority. Even the American MMA legend, Demetrious Johnson, tasted his worst defeat to ‘Mikinho.’ However, even after getting a definitive win over ‘Mighty Mouse’, the Brazilian had nothing but praise for the 12-time World Champion.
In an interview with the MMA reporter, Schmo, the ONE flyweight champion, gave his opinion about where the American stands on the GOAT list.

“He’s still in the first place. From you know, everything he did, and he keeps it doing for our sport, for our division, I think he’s the greatest of all time,” said Moraes.
Before facing Moraes for the ONE flyweight world championship, Johnson racked up multiple impressive wins against the top flyweight fighters on the ONE roster. Subsequently, winning the ONE Flyweight Grand Prix in the process. Thus, ‘Demetrious Johnson‘ has been nothing but impressive since his arrival in ONE.
Lately, he got a remarkable win against the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, after going through fire in the Muay Thai round of their mixed-rules bout at ONE X.

On the other hand, Moraes himself is stacking impressive wins one after the other. And perhaps challenge ‘Mighty Mouse’ soon for the best flyweight fighter ever to compete in the mixed martial arts rule set in terms of the volume and quality of wins. However, for now, he believes Johnson has an unmatched resume.

With Demetrious Johnson getting back into the win column and a Kairat Akhmetov trilogy looming over the champion, he believes one of these could be his next bout. However, even apart from these two, the champion has his eyes set on all the fighters in the division.
“Danny Kingad, you have a lot of killers come out. A lot of like, a lot of young guns. I don’t know. I’m just gonna come back to the gym and training hard to face whoever is put in front of me,” said the 33-year-old.
