“Losing or Winning, It Doesn’t Matter” – Stamp Fairtex Dissects Win Over ‘Tricky’ Anna Jaroonsak, Reveals Her Main Goal Was To Have Fun

Stamp Fairtex may have had a switch of opponents at the final hour, but that did not stop the three-sport athlete from leaving the ONE Circle with another victory last weekend. Teen phenom Anna ‘Supergirl’ Jaroonsak stepped in to compete against the former two-sport queen in a strawweight kickboxing firefight at ONE Fight Night 6: Superbon vs. Allazov on Prime Video, as Anissa ‘C18’ Meksen was a no-show for the weigh-ins.
Still, Stamp displayed her world-renowned striking to pick apart her compatriot on the way to a razor-thin split decision win. Stamp came out of her corner guns blazing, charging Anna with blistering combinations that caught her off guard. However, “Supergirl” stayed active and replied with stinging strikes of her own.

The fight wasn’t a walk in the park for Stamp Fairtex
Anna’s lanky frame also proved to be something that allowed the young star some moments of dominance. Ultimately, Stamp did enough to find holes within her rival’s defense.
“The first round was a bit difficult for me. I use the first round to look at the game and find out how to plan a strategy for the second round,” the athlete shared.

However, in round two, ‘Supergirl’s’ relentless pressure forced the former ONE atomweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing world champion into a counter-striking game. After a back-and-forth second frame, Stamp wasted no time tagging her rival with her usual combinations in the third stanza.
Eventually, her accuracy and damage in the final three minutes proved enough to earn the nod from two of the three judges scoring circle-side. Speaking on the victory, Stamp described the kickboxing ruleset as a double-edged sword, as she hasn’t competed in the discipline since focusing on mixed martial arts.

Stamp Fairtex stepped inside the circle to just have ‘fun’
“It was a lot of pressure for me because I have got a few disadvantages in terms of the feet and also with the weight class. I think to myself that I will just do this, and I will just have fun. And this will be like entertainment. Losing or winning, it doesn’t matter,” the ONE atomweight world Grand Prix champion said in the post-fight interview.
“It’s both an advantage and also a disadvantage. In my background in Muay Thai, I know how to punch and also throw a kick, but also in kickboxing, I cannot use elbows or knees. It’s an advantage for me because she is taller than me, and she cannot use knees or elbows against me, so it’s kind of two ways.”
