The Singapore-based global MMA promotion, ONE Championship, has seen a meteoric rise over the last few years. Bringing in all-new exciting fighters and signing deals with multiple broadcasting corporations have proved handy for the promotion. Recently, the promotion landed one more deal with the largest boxing arena in Thailand, the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. ONE is now all set to host weekly events at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

This move by ONE was commended by many in the combat world, including UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion, Valentina Shevchenko. ‘Bullet’ is also one of the most renowned Muay Thai fighters in the world with multiple championship victories. She appreciated this new venture by ONE with an opinion that it was an extraordinary move by the promotion to boost the sport of Muay Thai.

She also appreciated the entire process in which ONE brings its fighters to the public eye. Speaking about ONE, she iterated, “Their concept of showing fighters in competition, in training, and in real life is very interesting.”

Bullet was all praises for the efforts made by the ONE CEO, Chatri Sityodtong. Shevchenko lauded Sityodtong stating, “The CEO of ONE, Chatri Sityodtong, is doing amazing things for the development of martial arts, and now this new step will provide more attention to this incredible, strong, and beautiful martial art.”

She also described how this collaboration would work for the improvement of Muay Thai. ‘Bullet’ mentioned, “This step is much more important than the inclusion of Thai boxing in the Olympic programme. Lumpinee Stadium is an iconic place for Muay Thai fighters. It represents the tradition and spirit of the sport.”

She even stated she would be happy to attend the events in the future.

Valentina Shevchenko was impressed by her brief training span in Evolve MMA

Evolve MMA is a Singapore-based MMA training association that is used by a lot of ONE Championship combatants for training, including the ONE Lightweight and Middleweight champion, Christian Lee. Shevchenko had also been to the Evolve MMA gym to train for her last title defense against, Taila Santos, which she won by a split decision.

She also appreciated the entire facility and training partners in the Evolve MMA gym saying, “It impressed me, the staff at the gym was very friendly…”

Bullet also appreciated her training partners, Xiong [Jingnan], Ryuto [Sawada], and Thales [Nakassu] for their strength.
