Orlando Magic’s All-Star centre Nikola Vucevic is set to be out of action for a considerable amount of time.

League sources told The Athletic’s Shams Charania that Vucenic will miss at least four weeks due to his ankle injury.

Earlier, during the Wednesday’s 113-97 loss in Toronto Raprors, Vucevic and forward Aaron Gordon suffered ankle sprains and had to make an exit in the second quarter.

Evan Fournier lead the scoring for them with 21 points. “It’s tough,” he was quoted as saying by Times Colonist. “Hopefully it’s not too long for Aaron. Vuc seems to have a pretty big sprained ankle. We’re going to have to find ways to score the ball differently and kind of adapt the way we play.”

“They’re hurt, they’re not dead. We still have a lot of games left.”

X-rays on Vucevic’s ankle after he had to be helped off the court were reported to be negative.

“It was hard for me to put any pressure on,” Vucevic had said. “We’ll see. I’m supposed to get an MRI (Thursday) and then I’ll know more after that. It’s pretty painful right now.

Wednesday’s loss meant that Orlando are yet to win away from home this season, having played five matches so far. The only other team without an away win is Oklahoma City Thunder.

Vucevic had just won the Eastern conference player of the week, and his lay-off would be a big loss for Orlando.

Gordon, who had left just a few minutes before Vucevic, had also landing awkwardly after trying to stop a dunk by O.G. Anunoby. His injury, however seems to be minor one and might not miss as many games as Vucevic.

“It was a full jump. I came down and landed on the back of someone’s leg and rolled over,” Gordon said. “That’s why I knew it was hurt a little bit more, because I had jumped all the way up.”
