World No. 1 Novak Djokovic had an easy outing as he went past Mikael Ymer in the first round of the French Open 2020. This was a routine win for the Serbian in the different and unusual conditions in Paris. Djokovic has now taken his 2020 match record to a stunning 32-1.

Djokovic bageled his opponent in the first set and thoroughly dominated Ymer. The scorecard read 6-0,6-2,6-3. But coming into the French Open there was always that shadow around Djokovic’s disqualification from US Open 2020.

In a post-match interview with Eurosport, Djokovic was again asked about the disqualification and what he thought about the situation. He said, “I’ve said what I think about this whole incident. It was obviously my mistake, I should not have done that, but it happened. I paid the big consequence and was disqualified from the tournament. but it was a bit of a shock for me and my team for about a week.”

Djokovic was disqualified after hitting the line judge with a ball in his fourth round tie at the US Open 2020. In what was an act of frustration. Djokovic had lost a break against Pablo Carreno Busta, and so he took out a spare ball from his pocket and hit it a little too hard. Unfortunately for him, the ball ended up hitting the line judge. But now it seems like Djokovic has come to terms with the situation and moved on.
