Junior middleweight Patrick Day is reported to be in a coma following emergency brain surgery after suffering a brutal knockout against Charles Conwell in the 10th round at Wintrust Arena in Chicago on Saturday night.

Day, 27, was laying unconscious after getting knocked out brutally. Fight broadcaster DAZN said Day suffered a seizure in the ambulance and needed a breathing tube once he arrived at the hospital.

ESPN reported that Day had an emergency brain surgery and went into a coma, but did not say whether he fell into the coma or it was induced by the doctors.

Match room boxing is yet to speak anything more than the fact that Day was transported to a local hospital.

Day has previously held the WBC continental Americas super welterweight championship and WBO NABO super welterweight titles in June snapped a six-fight winning streak.

The surgery being a major one, the social media was praying for the well being of Patrick Day.
