When 2K announced the launch of the next-gen NBA 2K21, PC users were left disappointed. 2K restricted the next-gen game to just PS5 and the Xbox Series X, while PC had the same current-gen version as the PS4 and Xbox. One of the arguments is that PC doesn’t generate enough income for 2K.

So like every year, modders are coming to the rescue of PC users who wish to enhance their gaming experience. From improved cyber faces to scoreboards that say “Remembering Kobe,” mods take the gaming experience to the next level on PC.

When 2K21 dropped, a bubble mode was a feature many people anticipated. But it was absent. However, PC mods have brought the Orlando bubble to the game, and it looks very realistic. From the socially distanced benches to the Walt Disney courts, mods have got it all covered.

Modders fill in the gaps for NBA 2K21

In the new game, the Atlanta Hawks and the Charlotte Hornets are missing their new jerseys. It could just be a licensing issue, but modder Pinoy21 has got the community covered. He has not only got the new jerseys for both teams but also the Mamba jerseys that the Lakers have been sporting in the bubble.

When it comes to player faces, 2K has been lazy. Most of the faces are the same as the ones in 2K20, despite a lot of the players getting fresh haircuts in the bubble. Anthony Davis, DeMar DeRozan, and Mike Conley are few players who have got updates to their cyber faces.

Modders have also brought alive scoreboards from previous years. Scoreboards from the 2013 season right to the 2020 season are available to use. ESPN and TNT scoreboards have also been recreated on the game by modders like Karinge.

Finally, modder ITK has got classic throwback jerseys in the game, like the purple deer Bucks jerseys from the 80s and the black and gold Wizards jerseys from the late 2000s. PC users may not get the next-gen experience this year. But modders are doing the best to bridge the gap between current-gen and next-gen via these mods.
