Petra Kvitova Wants Laver Cup To Be Implemented on The WTA Tour

The Czech tennis player, Petra Kvitova regrets about not having enough team events for the WTA women, she urges for more team events for the WTA women as she enjoyed watching the ATP men’s team event, the Laver Cup 2019.

“Of course I see those new team competitions on the ATP. I would like to stay with the Fed Cups. I think we do have enough tournaments to play. I always love to play in team competitions. I mean, I’m really enjoying those weeks being in the Fed Cup team. It’s different compared to other tournaments. Yeah, I saw the Laver Cup. It’s amazing” said Petra Kvitova.

“I’m not really happy that we don’t have it on our tour. But it’s nice to see guys that are enjoying the time over there. I’m not really sure if we do have a space for that. The pressure is there when we are playing Fed Cup at home,” she added. At Wuhan Open 2019, Petra Kvitova lost to Alison Riske in the semifinals.

Also, Word Number 14, Aryna Sabalenka portrayed her interests for the team events in women’s tennis. Even she enjoyed the Laver Cup event for the ATP men and prefers to have a similar event in women’s tennis.

“It will be really interesting. Why not? There will be great players. Will be interesting to play there. I think a lot of fun. I like team competitions. I like to play Fed Cup. Hopman Cup, I’d like to play if it’s any chances. Also, yeah, why not? Like Laver Cup, they’re going to call it, I don’t know, Billie Jean King Cup, Women’s Cup.”

Sabalenka feels it would be great to share courts with players like Serena Williams and getting to know others on the WTA Tour.

“I would like to hear what Serena going to say me on the court. I don’t know, like some great players. It’s really interesting. Sometimes it looks really funny with Fognini sitting focusing, and Roger Federer tries to say something to him. He was like, No, no, no, you don’t understand anything. It’s really interesting.”
