PFL 4 RESULTS: From Four Consecutive Finishes to an All-Time Classic Headliner, PFL: Collard vs. Martinez Had Everything

The Professional Fighters League put on their PFL 4: 2022 Regular Season event at the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The 10-fight event saw a mixture of spectacular finishes and close split decision bouts that had fans on the edge of their seats. Alex Martinez defeated Clay Collard with a razor-thin decision in the main event.

As soon as ring announcer Lilian Garcia introduced the fighters from the first bout, the commentary team of Randy Couture, Sean O’Connell, and Kenny Florian set the stage for an epic spectacle. The event saw four back-to-back finishes on the prelims.

PFL 4: 2022 Regular Season prelims results

Nate Jennerman vs. Jake Childers:

The lightweight bout between Nate Jennerman and Jake Childers ended in a quick submission when the former cinched in a rear-naked choke on the latter to end the bout at the seven-minute mark (2:00, Round 2).

Marthin Hamlet vs. Josh Silveira:

The next bout of the night saw a faster finish than the previous bout, as Josh Silveira ended the night quickly. He landed a head kick and followed it with knees in the clinch. The official stoppage came in at 3:27 of the initial round.

Rob Wilkinson vs. Viktor Pešta:

The third bout of the night followed the trend as it ended at only 3:03 in Round 1. Rob Wilkinson got his hand raised via T/KO.

Emiliano Sordi vs. Delan Monte:

The fourth bout of the night saw Delan Monte secure a win in only 92 seconds as he got the T/KO stoppage against Emiliano Sordi in the light heavyweight contest.

Natan Schulte vs. Marcin Held:

The lightweight bout between Schulte and Held saw the first instance of judges’ scorecard coming into play at PFL 4 2022. Natan Schulte won the bout via a unanimous decision.

Omari Akhmedov vs. Teodoras Aukštuolis:

The light heavyweight bouts at PFL 4 continued their finishing streak when Akhmedov pulled off an arm-triangle choke in the second round (2:50).

All the finishes on the prelims set up an exciting main card.

PFL: Collard vs. Martinez main card results

The main card at the June 17 event had some close bouts and saw former champions getting eliminated.

Jeremy Stephens vs. Myles Price:

The lightweight showdown between Stephens and Price went down to the wire. The former pulled off a split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) win in a hard-fought 15-minute war.

Raush Manfio vs. Olivier Aubin-Mercier:

Manfio, the former tournament champion, found himself in a very tough contest against Olivier Aubin-Mercier, who dominated the fight and won the unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).

Antônio Carlos Junior vs. Bruce Souto:

The Brazilian fighters’ clash in the co-main event saw Carlos Junior getting his hand raised in a definitive performance (unanimous decision 30-27 x 3).

Clay Collard vs. Alex Martinez:

The main event bout was a slugfest as both fighters put in everything behind their shots in an all-out brawl. Both had many moments where they could’ve ended the night for the other fighter.

However, both survived the final bell and saw the bout go to the judges’ scorecards. The judges scored the bout for Martinez in a split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).

Thus, all the bouts at PFL 4 delivered big time and ensured that the promotion’s trip to Atlanta was a massive success.
