The 2021 BMW Championship is currently underway at the Caves Valley Golf Club. And Bryson DeChambeau currently leads the event with a score of -16. He scored an exceptional 60 in round 2 to take the lead. However, he narrowly missed out on carding a 59 as he missed a final birdie putt and finished with a score of 60.

Meanwhile, there was a two-hour delay on Friday due to the dangerous weather conditions. Furthermore, they suspended round two at 7:40 p.m. local time due to darkness. Ryan Palmer uses a putter to get out of the bunker at the 2021 BMW Championship

We don’t usually see tour players using a putter to get out of the bunker. However, on the 18th green, Ryan Palmer used a putter to get out of the bunker. He needed a strong up-and-down from the bunker to save par, but still, Palmer made a bogey to finish at -1 at the 2021 BMW Championship.

Meanwhile, Ryan Palmer had a little green to work with from the bunker. And it looked like the strong slope will take the ball from left to right. Hence, Palmer decided to go with a putter since the bunker wasn’t too deep, and all he had to do was get the ball on the fringe and let the slope do all the talking.

That is exactly what Palmer did. He punched the ball through the bunker onto the green. But sadly, the angle took the ball away from the pin location, and Palmer had a 10ft putt for par. However, sadly Ryan Palmer couldn’t save par as he made two putts from that distance and dropped a shot to finish his round two with a score of -1.
