Ravindra Jadeja Slams Sanjay Manjrekar’s Commentary as “Verbal Diarrhoea”

Indian left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja, on Wednesday took a dig at former India player turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar on twitter. Jadeja used strong words to slam Manjrekar and quoted his commentary as “verbal diarrhoea”.

“Still i have played twice the number of matches you have played and i m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved.i have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea.@sanjaymanjrekar” a tweet from Ravindra Jadeja’s official twitter account read.

The tweet quickly caught the eye of many cricket fans around the world.

Even though no context was specified, it is assumed that Jadeja slammed Manjrekar’s for his previous comments on Jadeja as “bits and pieces” player.

“I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner,” Manjrekar was quoted as saying by news agency IANS. Manjrekar has said this after India had lost a match against England and there were hints of Ravindra Jadeja getting a place in the playing XI.

The Saurashtra all-rounder is in the Indian squad for  the Cricket World Cup 2019 but hasn’t played any of the matches in the tournament so far. Wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal were picked ahead of him. He has, however come in as a substitute fielder on many occasions and made significant contributions Jadeja is one of the quickest fielders and one of those who can create a spark with his fielding.

India have qualified for the semi-finals and might rotate their squad a little for their final league match against Sri Lanka on the 6th of July which can be an opportunity for Jadeja for some match time.
