“Look, he’s a very special player on a special roll,” Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said of Luka Doncic after Wednesday’s crushing win over Golden State Warriors. “There’s not much else to say. This isn’t a big news flash now. This is getting to be pretty normal.” Perhaps, it is indeed getting normal now, for the 2018 NBA Draft’s third overall pick has been churning out some great numbers since the start of the season.

For the last seven games, Doncic has been scoring over 10 points in the first quarter of the game- the only Maverick to do so in the last 20 years.

In the entirety of last season, Luka Doncic had eight triple doubles, and hardly two months into this season, he already has seven.

He was coming into the game against Warriors on Wednesday after a 42 point triple double in the last game, and it was nothing less than a blast for him as he had more points, more assists and more rebounds than the entire Warriors team in the first quarter.

In doing so, at the end of first quarter, Luka Doncic became the first player to outscore, out-rebound and out-assist a team in a quarter since Allen Iverson in 2003, and no other player has done it on the last 20 seasons.

Continuing with the momentum, it took Doncic less than 25 minutes to register yet another triple double, making him the first player to do so. He later exited the game with a few minutes still to go in the third quarter. Pr

Also at 20 years and 264 days, Luka became the youngest player in NBA history to record back-to-back 35-point triple-doubles.

The only players in the NBA history to average a 30-pt triple-double over a 10-game span have been Michael Jordan, Oscar Robertson, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook. Doncic has now joined the list of these illustrious players with an average of 31.9 pg, 11.4 rpg and 10.5 apg over the last 10 games.

Yes, he was achieving all sorts of milestones, and was keeping some great company in doing that. But for Luka, it was all about winning games.

“I’m glad we’re winning games. That’s all,” he said after the game. “We’ve got three in a row, and we’ve just got to keep going like that.”

And if you are able to get over his performance and wondering about the final score of the game, it was 142-94.
