REPORTS: 2022 F1 Engine Set to Push Ferrari Further Upwards

Ferrari have announced their intentions to get back on top of the sport next season. The Italian team are currently lagging behind their rivals, Mercedes and Red Bull.
After a despairing season in 2020, however, Ferrari are having a resurgent season and are currently in a fight with Mclaren for the third place in the championship.
F1 is introducing a new haul of regulations in the 2022 season. They have introduced the new regulations to cut downforce and make racing closer.

The Prancing Horses have disclosed that they are working on two separate engine developments. The first one focuses on developing the 2021 engine, the second thread focuses on developing the new engine for next season.

Ferrari is in good spirits to fully catch up again in 2022
According to Auto Motor Und Sport, Ferrari are currently playing catch up to Honda and Mercedes. The Italian team arguably had the fastest engine in the 2018 and 2019 seasons, but they were accused of cheating and several teams on the grid pointed out engine setting regularities in the Ferrari engine.
Following that, Ferrari signed an undisclosed agreement with the FIA in late 2019. Since then, they have been struggling. But they are having a resurgent season in 2021 and seem to have made gains in the engine deficit.

Ferrari have mentioned that they are 25hP-30hP behind the Honda engines on the grid currently. But they stated they are in good spirits to fully catch up to the grid in the 2022 season.

The Italian team finished 6th in the constructor’s champion in 2020. But they have made a comeback in the 2021 season with engine upgrades and a less draggy car.

They are currently 12 points behind McLaren in the constructors’ championship. Finishing third in 2021 would give the Italian team an even bigger push for the 2022 season.
