Over the past couple of days, influencers, journalists, and reviewers have received the Xbox Series X for review. This is common practice in the video game industry considering the media houses usually release their hands-on reviews for the upcoming consoles a day or two before the actual launch date. It is exciting to see that Xbox has shipped its consoles to hundreds of such reviewers almost a month before launch, but there is seemingly some unfavorable news regarding the console already.

You may have come across this particular bit of news which said how the Series X emits a huge amount of heat. VGC reported this first where the headline read ‘Journalist says Xbox Series X can get ‘hot like a fireplace’.

This ought to have caught your attention and for good reason, too. Any bit of info that claims that a next-gen console like the Series X has heating issues needs to be looked at. The article was written quoting Twitch creator Ken Bogard’s video. He allegedly claimed that “The Series X is hot, like really hot! It doesn’t make any noise, but damn it’s hot! The console is emitting heat like crazy. It’s almost like a fireplace shaft. You can heat up your flat with it.”

Although, this video has now been deleted and no reason is provided for the same. This does indeed raise questions about these seemingly over-the-top claims. In addition to this, Ken also responded to a question by a twitter follower regarding this to which he replied ‘FAKE NEWS’.

More claims that suggest the Xbox Series X has heating issues

This is just one part of the story. The second part is where YouTuber Jeff Bakalar mentioned that the expandable SSD felt ‘toasty’. This was misquoted in several articles as Jeff ‘burning his hand’ which is not true. Jeff even tweeted to clarify this and cleared all doubts that anyone had. Take a look at it below.

Additionally, journalists have also busted the news claiming that the Series X has an overheating problem. The Verge Editor Tom Warren tweets “lots of people keep asking me about Xbox Series X heat. I’m under embargo. Just consider this, Microsoft wouldn’t send these consoles to 100s of journalists, streamers, and youtubers if they had heat issues. They just wouldn’t let people touch the console at all”

It is surprising to see people believing these claims, even though there is almost no proper first-hand review out yet. This was definitely not good for Xbox but thankfully, the truth is out now. The Series X remains a beast that has great cooling and only time will tell if there is any actual heating problem that persists.
