Roger Federer Has Shocking Answer To Retirement Questions

The 38-year-old Swiss adept of tennis, Roger Federer has announced his calendar for the tennis season 2020 and he doesn’t seem to set his racquets aside anytime in the near future. The 20-time Grand Slam champion, Federer’s 2020 calendar appears to be a regular one, he plans on playing the elite tournaments on the men’s tour.

The Olympic silver medalist, Federer is yet to accommodate the Tokyo Olympics 2020 into his schedule. The quadrennial event will be taking place right after Wimbledon 2020 and the place for the Olympics is still hanging on his calendar.

“Other players are planning three months ahead, I’m doing it for nine months till Wimbledon so far, then probably Tokyo, followed by US Open and Laver Cup, could basically already talk about season 2022 since I don’t know when it’s over so it’s basically endless,” Roger Federer addressed Blick.

Will Roger Federer play clay season 2020?

This year, Roger Federer excited the European tennis fans by making his return to clay after three years. Also, he stepped on the Parisian terre-battue, Roland-Garros for the first time in four years. However, his plans for the clay season 2020 are not disclosed. According to the reports, Federer’s team has decided his next year’s schedule for clay, and for the moment, his appearance on clay is tentative.

Wimbledon has always been Federer’s most favorite tournament on the ATP Tour. This year, he fell short by a point to lift his ninth Wimbledon crown. To play for his ninth title in SW19, Roger Federer might prioritize his grass-court season preparation over the clay-court tour next year.
