Roger Federer Makes Funs of Rafael Nadal – “I Will Break His Back”

World Number three, Roger Federer is excited to play Laver Cup 2019 in his home country and more than everything, the Swiss seems eager to share the tennis court with his age-old nemesis, Rafael Nadal.

While touring around the Laver Cup’s indoor stadium at the Palexpo in Geneva, upon spotting the poster of an amusing moment from Laver Cup 2017 in Prague, where Nadal was on top a Federer, and the Swiss chuckled and said, “I’ll be on top of him this time, and I will break his back.”

He once again mocked Nadal and picked on the Spaniard’s style of receiving the ball. While returning a serve, Rafa stands about six meters away from the baseline. Referring to Rafa’s stance while receiving, Roger ridiculed and said, “we have got enough space (on the Laver Cup court) for Rafa behind the baseline, so we are good.”

After lifting his 19th Slam title in New York, the Spanish legend, Rafael Nadal is delighted to play the fun event of tennis with the European men and he is looking forward to emulating their victory from the inaugural event in the Czech Republic.

“I’m looking forward to the Laver Cup and am very excited to be named to the team by our captain, Bjorn Borg,” Nadal said. “I’ll do my best to live up to the great performances we had in Prague.”

It was sheer bliss for Federer when he played with Rafa in Prague and this year, he is looking forward to similar fun and entertainment from the year 2017.

“We’ve all been blown away by the success of the Laver Cup, which is just two years has become so special to all the players who’ve been involved,” the World Number three said.  “Rafa and I had a blast in Prague and it will be very special for me to team up with him again in Switzerland to try and defend our title.”

The Roger Federer backed event, Laver Cup will get underway on September 20, 2019.
