Royal Challengers Bangalore: Former Owner Reacts to New Logo

Royal Challengers Bangalore is yet to win the IPL. The franchise recently launched a 3-day PR stunt to reveal its new logo and jersey. In fact, they went as far as removing all display images and posts from the social media accounts. The skipper, Virat Kohli, was taken by surprise as well. Additionally, other players were concerned as well.

Now, given that the franchise underwent an identity change, fans now definitely expect the team to put more efforts. In fact, not only are the fans expecting, but so is former owner, Vijay Mallya. Even the captain could not contain his excitement over the new logo and jersey.

The logo resembled the new fearless and bold attitude of the team. The new jersey was to welcome the team’s latest sponsor, Muthoot Group.
Vijay Mallya’s reaction after Royal Challengers Bangalore reveals logo
First, Vijay Mallya reacted to the logo and jersey change saying that it’s really great to know the team is ready to roar like a lion. On top of that, he added that now it’s time for Royal Challengers Bangalore to finally get the trophy home.

Furthermore, the businessman shared his opinion about Virat Kohli’s capability as a leader. He said, “Leave it to him and give him the freedom. All RCB fans want that long overdue IPL trophy,”. He believes that Kohli has been successful in leading the Indian team towards numerous victories and he can do the same for RCB as well.

Since the change of identity, the fan-base of the franchise have had mixed feelings. While some of the fans are delighted with the change, others are slightly disappointed. The primary root of disappointment is that even with identity change there’s no guarantee the team will perform better in IPL 2020.

Royal Challengers Bangalore did not perform as they should have during IPL 2019. They managed to emerge victorious only for 5 games out of 14. Considering IPL 2020, this is the 3rd time in a row they failed to go past the Round Robin stage. In fact, they were at the bottom of the points table. The team’s best performance was during IPL 2016 when they reached the finals. However, even then they ended up being the runners-up.
