Russian Grand Prix 2019 Weather Predictions

A week after the Singapore Grand Prix, the Formula One paddock heads to Sochi for the next round of the Formula One season, the Russian Grand Prix 2019. Last time around, Sebastian Vettel finally go the year old monkey off his back with his first win of the season, not counting Canada.

Now, in the coming Russian Grand Prix 2019 weekend, Formula One fans are excited to see Ferrari take the fight to Mercedes at last. With Charles LeClerc also on song, the team will be aiming to keep up the momentum. However, this a circuit that Mercedes have dominated since its inception in 2014.

In terms of the weather conditions for the Russian Grand Prix 2019 weekend, things are straightforward for the teams on Friday, with temperature reaching 20-21 degrees. However, the qualifying session on Saturday may take place in wet conditions, while on Sunday will be partly cloudy. In addition to the cloudy weather, there may be morning showers, but the afternoon’s race should be dry. The humidity for Saturday is predicted to be 85%, while it will be 40% humidity on Sunday

With regard to the tyre allocation for the Russian Grand Prix 2019, the Renaults, Haas, Racing Point and the Alfa Romeos opted for 10 sets of soft tyres. Meanwhile, Mercedes are the only team electing to run 8 sets of softs, with the remaining teams on 9 sets each.

It was interesting to note that Lewis Hamilton chose to field 4 sets of medium tyres, the most out of anybody on the grid. Meanwhile, Daniel Ricciardo and Kimi Raikkonen have only 1 set of softs available to them for the Russian Grand Prix 2019. Bottas, Vettel, LeClerc, Verstappen, Albon, Kvyat and Russell have three sets available, while the remaining drivers have two sets to play with.

Finally, in the hard tyre department, Bottas, Ricciardo, Sainz, Norris, Raikkonen, Gasly and Kubica have two sets each. On the other hand, all other drivers have 1 set of hard tyre compounds for the Russian Grand Prix 2019 weekend. All in all, there will be a myriad of strategies being played out, with some drivers taking gambles.
