Kerala-born player Sanju Samson had been having an underwhelming T20 series against New Zealand. The Vizhinjam-born player struggled with the willow for the second time in the series. However, he managed to redeem himself with his efforts on the field.
During the final T20I against New Zealand, the Kerala cricketer was treated to a mass jaw-drop. To stop a potential boundary, the 25-year old ripped up every physics text book with one display of athleticism.
On the final delivery of the eight over, Samson jumped across the boundary ropes to catch the ball. He also showcased great presence of mind by tossing the ball away before he landed.

However, an alert Sanju Samson had one eye on the ball and channeled his inner Superman. He timed the leap, almost to perfection and managed to catch and release the ball mid-air.
Sanju Samson: Great fielder, not-so great batsman
When the Men in Blue were put in to bat first, they posted a total of 163 for the loss of three wickets. This was only Samson’s second outing in the series, and it was a miserable one. In the 4th T20I, he was dismissed for 8 runs, while in this match he was sent packing after a paltry two runs.

Fortunately, Samson’s redemption on the field ensured that New Zealand closed out the match, seven runs short. To make matters even better, he and KL Rahul teamed up to run out Tom Bruce for a duck. Admittedly, Tim Seifert and Ross Taylor made the Men in Blue sweat, with their half centuries.
